The Suicide Squad: Age Rating for Part 2 Will Be Hard

The huge success of Joker has given DC the starting signal. In the future, many more films with a hard R rating will follow. This includes the upcoming strip The Suicide Squad. Here you can find out, which release the movie will get in Germany.

There is good news for those who are fans of brutal superhero films: DC is currently planning many more R-rated projects. In addition to the spin-off Birds of Prey: The Emancipation of Harley Quinn also belong to The Suicide Squad. Behind the project is director James Gunn, who has also produced the superhero horror movie Brightburn.
The first Suicide Squad movie was released in Germany at the age of 16 years. However, in the United States the film received a low PG-13 rating. This means that we can adapt to a much tougher film. In Germany, the R rating typically corresponds to a rating of 16 or 18 years. We assume that the new The Suicide Squad movie in this country is rated by the FSK 16 and up. In the US, the film comes out on August 6, 2021. A German theatrical release is currently not fixed.
The cast member can definitely be seen. From the old cast, Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Viola Davis (Amanda Waller), Joel Kinnaman (Rick Flag) and Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang) return. In addition, stars such as Nathan Fillion, Idris Elba and Michael Rooker are new at the start.
With his superhero satire Super and the horror film Slither Gunn could already show that he can master drastic violence and black humor. That's probably what the anti-Gotham anti-hero force can do now. What do you think about The Suicide Squad getting a hard age rating?
