Hunger Games 5: Prehistory hero is a mega surprise

Fans have waited a long time and soon it will finally be time: The Hunger Games are back. The pre-story The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes will be released this May 2020. At first only as a novel by Hunger Games author Suzanne Collins, but there is already a chance for a film adaptation. We would never have expected which character surprisingly ends up in the leading role.
After three The Hunger Games and four films, Suzanne Collins finally delves into the world she has created. The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes, as the prequel novel is titled, is not yet on the shelves. But Entertainment Weekly recently published the very first excerpt from the book, which already reveals some interesting details about the story. The film studio is also impressed by the story and could take on the film adaptation of the work in the future.
Of course, the general storyline had been outlined earlier: The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes takes place 64 years before The Hunger Games. So ten years before the so-called Dark Days, in which the Districts of Panem fought violently against the Capitol. After the government put down the rebellion, the infamous hunger games were introduced. The Capitol wanted to entertain the population and put any form of resistance in its place.
Of course, Katniss Everdeen and her friends are still out of the question at the time of the prehistory. Therefore, a new hero takes the wheel instead and becomes the protagonist. But we would never have expected exactly this character in the leading role: Coriolanus Snow, the future tyrant and president of Panem. Entertainment Weekly explains what this means: "Snow is our new protagonist, a privileged teenager who is looking for more in the world. He is still a long way from the man we know will become him. He's friendly here. He's charming. And he's, at least for now, a hero. "
