The great time of the "Star Trek" series is entering a new phase. The third season of "Star Trek: Discovery" will start soon. This is new food for the sci-fi fans among you. We'll tell you exactly when Netflix will continue and what awaits you in the new episodes.
Already at the end of the second season Alex Kurtzman, one of the creators of the sci-fi series, told the colleagues from the Hollywood Reporter how he imagines the further course and why certain decisions were made. At the end of season 2, Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) is going 950 years into the future with the time travel suit. An action that raised questions.
Kurtzman replied that he wanted to avoid the so-called canon in the "Star Trek" universe. After various told stories and leaps in time, the corset in which new series and films can begin. With a distance of 950 years, the narrative style of the story becomes freer and references can be used more specifically. So "Star Trek: Discovery" Season 3 will be waiting for us in the new era. A big leap with many possibilities.
It will continue with the new episodes on October 15, 2020 on American pay TV. Traditionally, this means that the episodes in Germany are available for streaming on Netflix a day later. The German start should therefore be October 16, 2020. A date in the not too distant future, so that you can really look forward to it.
Then it continues with Michael Burnham and her crew. The main role is again Sonequa Martin-Green. In addition to the continuation of this series, the Discovery offshoot "Section 31" and previously "Star Trek: Lower Decks" awaits us. But "Star Trek: Picard" will soon be in its second season. The universe, on the other hand, grows with "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" and "Star Trek: Prodigy".
